Twitter's privilege claim challenged in data breach suit
In a heated discovery dispute, plaintiffs' attorneys argue that Twitter is wrongfully withholding 12 incident reports related to a 2021 data breach that allegedly exposed 200 million users' personal information. Twitter denies there is evidence of its users' information being stolen and says the documents being sought are privileged.





Plaintiffs' attorneys told an Oakland federal judge Tuesday that Twitter's attempt to "improperly withhold" production of incident reports of a 2021 data breach "defies logic." The putative class action accuses the social media giant of failing to safeguard 200 million users from having their personal information "scraped" by hackers.
