1st wrongful death suits filed against Edison for Eaton Fire
The lawsuits claim negligence - wrongful death and survival action; and violation of Public Utilities Code Sec. 2106. Both say the utility's corporate culture puts profits over safety. No cause of the fire has been determined yet.
Attorneys with Andrews & Thornton and Ben Crump Law Firm filed two wrongful death lawsuits against Southern California Edison stemming from the Eaton Canyon wildfire that decimated Altadena. They are believed to be the first wrongful death claims in Los Angeles County Superior Court in connection with the fire that has claimed over a dozen lives.
