Sanchez confirmed to 9th Circuit and McKeown announces senior status
Democrats hoped that several older judges, especially those appointed by Democratic presidents, would take senior status to allow Biden restock the appellate bench.
The U.S. Senate on Wednesday confirmed Gabriel P. Sanchez, a 1st District Court of Appeal justice and former deputy legal affairs secretary for Gov. Jerry Brown, to a seat on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden will get another seat on the appellate court to fill after 9th Circuit Judge
