Bill requiring DA, AG recusals for law enforcement contributions dies in Assembly

A Senate bill that would have required an attorney general or a district attorney who accepts contributions from law enforcement to recuse themselves from investigating and prosecuting officers has died in the Assembly.
SB710 was held in the appropriations committee Thursday afternoon, leaving the Prosecutors Alliance of California, a sponsor of the bill, to consider whether to reintroduce the bill again next session.
