Suit alleges lead in baby food sold at Target, Whole Foods
Vineet Dubey, a partner at Custodio & Dubey LLP, represents the plaintiff, seeking injunctive relief and civil penalties against Nurture Inc., which does business as Happy Family Organics.
A lawsuit filed Tuesday alleges organic food manufacturer Nurture Inc. is distributing baby food that contains excessive levels of lead in violation of Proposition 65, California's toxic substance law.
The plaintiff, nonprofit Ecological Alliance LLC, also names Whole Foods and Target Corp. as defendants in the complaint filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
