Judge Richard A. Paez of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals announced he will take senior status as soon as a successor is confirmed.
Paez sent his letter to President Joe Biden on May 5, which reads, "It has been an honor and privilege to serve as a judge on the Ninth Circuit for 21 years," and said he intends to still work part-time.
