When the pandemic first hit, my go to weekend refuge for a little sun and a sack lunch was a promontory in Elysian Park overlooking Dodger Stadium.
With downtown Los Angeles, its courts and offices the backdrop, the parking lot was at first empty. In coming weeks, it filled with thousands of rental cars. Then it emptied again, ultimately replaced with thousands of neatly arranged orange traffic cones.
