Boeing appoints GC to new position amid 737 Max litigation

Amid a slew of lawsuits prompted by the death of 346 people on Boeing 737 Max planes, the company promoted its general counsel J. Michael Luttig to a new position to deal with the lawsuits.

Aerospace giant Boeing promoted general counsel J. Michael Luttig to a newly created position of counselor and senior advisor to the CEO amid litigation over the company’s alleged negligence in two plane crashes. President of Boeing Japan Brett Gerry will take over immediately as general counsel.

Luttig is a former judge on the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
