Proskauer Rose’s top PE lawyer bolts for Kirkland & Ellis, and takes 19 lawyers with him

LOS ANGELES — In a huge shakeup, 20 attorneys from Proskauer Rose LLP’s Los Angeles-based transactional team left to join Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Among them were dealmaker and managing partner Michael A. Woronoff.

Woronoff is considered one of the top private equity lawyers on the West Coast, with his biggest client being Ares Management LP. The Los Angeles-based investment firm manages more than $130 billion in assets.
