LAPD Program Tests DNA in Nonviolent Crimes

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Police Department is collecting DNA evidence in nonviolent crimes for the first time under a pilot program that law enforcement officials say could expand the reach of the burgeoning crime-solving technique.
