Drug levels at issue in DUI bill

A California and other states relax marijuana laws, legislators and enforcement officials are grappling with ways to better police impaired driving. One lawmaker has proposed setting a strict limit on drug levels detectable in blood.

As California and other states relax marijuana laws, legislators and enforcement officials are grappling with ways to better police impaired driving.


One California lawmaker is now proposing a bill that would limit drivers to less than 2 nanograms of THC per milliliter of blood. THC is the primary mind-altering component found in the plant.
